MilitaryFrom Mar 1777 - Jul 1779James Baker served as an Ensign in the 2nd Virginia Regiment From Mar 1777 - Jul 1779. He volunteered with General Anthony Wayne at the Battle of Stony Point, New York, and was in the first attack upon the fort. He was wounded while scaling the wall during the assault and died some days afterward in hospital.3
