Virginia At a Court of Quarterly Sessions begun and held for Westmoreland County the 24th day of May 1830, On the motion of James Dishman it is Ordered that Francis C Triplett, William H Triplett, Joseph F Harvey, Lawrence Washington and Charles Jett (or any three) be appointed Commissioners to allot to Mary Simms late widow of James McDaniel decd her dower in the Slaves of her late husband the said James McDaniel decd and to allot, to James Dishman & John Dishman in right of their respective wives, Amanda & Mary children & heirs at law of the said James McDaniel decd their interest in the remaining slaves of the said James McDaniel decd

Agreeable to the annexed Order we three of the Comm. did on 19 June 1830 proceed to value and divide the the [sic] slaves belonging to the Est. of James McDaniel, accordingly, we put the slaves in 3 lotts numbered from one to three viz
Lott No 1

Samuel & Henderson (twins) $60

and to receive from Lott No 3 $10

Henry a boy $200
and to receive from Lott No 3 $20

to pay lotts No 1 & 2 this sum $30

Now upon draw James Dishman who intermarried with Amanda McDaniel drawed Lott No 1, John T. Dishman who intermarried with Mary McDaniel drawed Lott No 2 and Benjaman Simms who intermarried with the widow of James McDaniel drawed Lott No 3 as the dower of his sd wife Mary
