Norman Clark Sampson, age 82 of Fulton, died Saturday September 6, 2003 at Fulton Manor Care Center. He was born October 4, 1920 in Callaway County, the son of the late Paris and Beulah (Guerrant) Sampson. He married Joan Dishman on December 25, 1960 in Benton City, Missouri and she survives of the home. Other survivors include one sister Louise Hardin of Fulton and two sisters in laws Lucy Sampson and Gloria Dishman; 4 nephews, 3 nieces and 6 great nephews and 3 great nieces. He was preceded in death by one brother and one nephew. Clark owned and operated his farm for many years and served on the ASCA county committee. He was a rural mail carrier for five years retiring in 1984. He was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church and served as a deacon, Sunday School Teacher and a member of many committees. Clark will be most remembered for letting his sister in law Gloria for live in their home for 18 years. He was a graduate of Fulton High School, and he served in the U.S. Army Tank Division in Germany during World War II.
Funeral Services will be Tuesday, September 9, 2003 at the First Baptist Church in Fulton at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Sowder officiating. Burial will be in the Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitations will be Monday evening at the Debo Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
