Robert William Dodgion, 38, of Lynchburg passed away on Monday, May 26, 2014. He is survived by his son, Stone William Dodgion; his wife, Jennifer Hicks Dodgion; his mother, Karen Garner Berry and her husband, Reginald “Reggie” Berry; a brother, Phillip Matthew Dodgion and his wife, Julia Wattson Dodgion; his mother-in-law, Wanda Billock and her husband, Todd Billock; and his aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry William Dodgion and his maternal and paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Garner and William and Evelyn Dodgion.
Robert was born in Lynchburg on May 8, 1976 and was a graduate of Rustburg High School and Radford University. He was a great salesman for Lynchburg Wholesale Floral Corporation. Robert loved football and was a huge fan of the Washington Redskins; enjoyed motorcycles and riding with close friends. He was a kind hearted man; loved children and his dog named Bugsy that he adored for many years.
A funeral service will be conducted 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014 in Peakland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Dr. John N. Vest with burial to follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Heritage Funeral Service, 427 Graves Mill Road. The family appreciates flowers and donations may be made to Central Virginia United Soccer, 22290 Timberlake Road, Lynchburg, VA 24502.
